Scheme of bio-processing of seaweed.

(Fermenting and separation)

1)Cleaning/Grinding of seaweed. Seaweed comes to the plant by boat or truck. Unloads in an inlet funnel. With conveyers, transported. When placed on the belt checked for impurities/sorted and fed into a big mincer.
2)Enzymes added for sugar conversion and to stimulate the extraction of nutrients.
3)Separation of the liquid from the solids and the liquid stored for fermentation.(Special Yeast added)
4)Drying of the solids and palletised. These products can be used to enrich fodder’s. Rich in protein and minerals. Because of the effects of seaweed on health of the user (animals) they make a extremely valuable commodity. No race horse goes without it.(Recommended is 16 gram/day for horses) But not only horses, but nearly any living creature including plants do benefit. Cows, pigs, chickens, pets fish, plants etc.

The optimum nourishment strengthen the hormonal, lymphatic, urinary system. The repair of tissue, building new cells. Increase the veins and heart contractile force, restores and increases cardiac efficiency. Increase the effectiveness of the digestive system.
The reduction of opportunist bacterial and viral infection. The strengthening of the immune will help you to keep the Vet away/need of medicine.
Due to the presence of seaweed’s mineral abundance an inner environment is created where nerve signals flow more smoothly.
5)Distillation and purification. Because seaweed is rich in more than 40 different chemicals and during the fermentation many of them get released. Separating all the different bio-substances has to be done in a specialised factory. After the fermentation is finish the ferment is collected for further processing. It contains the mentioned alcohol’s/esters propanol, glycerol, butynic acetone. The liquid phase after distillation still contains several important bio- pharmaceuticals/fine chemicals . Extraction and re-crystallisation are necessary to get these substances separated.

Oligo saccharides like manitol, sorbitol, geledium, fural, fucan, agarose, different acids like algenic- ,lactic-, acetic acids etc.
Organic material/left over is fed to the Bio-gas generator.
Bio-gas be used for heating or generating electricity. When used to generate electricity only 20-30% of the energy is used and the cooling liquid used for heating. Approximately 80 degrees centigrade. The combination is important otherwise a substantial amount of energy is lost.
